My Band Update

So on friday my band Crack Magik ( www.myspace.com/crackmagik ) played a live set on Radio 1190!
It was an assload of fun, "April 25th, 2009

Crack Magik played yesterday on the show and they were incredible. They had David Mead from Aenka playing with them who is a new addition to the band. Listen to it! There are pictures up too." quote from the 1190 website.

Also the radio show host said "I thought i knew what "loud" was until i heard Crack Magik"

Headcolds and the life of a Bicycle Courier

Right now i have the most amazing head cold. Exploding sinuses are fun, i fucking swear it.
my band Crack Magik was in the Onion for a show we played with Gay Beast last thursday.
Quite possibly our best show yet, the band is finaly like 100% dialed in Children of Bodem style.

Due to economic stress my job as a Bike messenger is sucking ass, hardly any work means hardly any money to be made. My paychecks have steadly gone down since i started last april. Its like the stock market except i dont get a bailout i just get to be hungry. On the upside i Graduate from school in june, on the downside yet again due to the fucking economy, half of my Graphic design clientele (5 out of 10) have vanished off the face of the planet (meaning minimal communications break down) the good news is i am currently working on a bar in town called "Roo Bar"'s identity which is good because i was getting pretty hungry and rent was due like 12 days ago.

Went to loveland pass to do some hitch hiking snowboarding, first hitch i got we almost slid off the fucking pass (hair-pin turn + yuppies from westminster + bad roads + no guard-rail = "Holy shit man take it easy we almost met the devil back there!")

Over all life is good

So if anyone knows or doesn't know Denver is hosting the DNC this year.
pretty cool right. WRONG!
So far things have been ok, besides you know the military helicopter "counter terrorist" training 150 feet above your house. Dont forget the 15 million dollars being spent on cameras and guns for the police. Did i mention hightend security.
Why just the other day i didnt have my ID at a drop at the IRS building (federal building) and i got the fucking Federal Police called on me (homeland security) seriously im just a bike courier. Watch out for my bike helmet filled with c-4, i mean seriously the fucking federal police.

anyhoo the gov will probobly read this and think im a terrorist now.

its a very rough jam slash practice (1st with the new guitarist) no vocals and no bass

Marks almost 4 years of not owning a car, or using a car for transport.

Marks almost 4 years of being away from Michigan, and all that entails.

San fransisco / Homeless in Denver

so in less than a week im going to San Fransisco to be a bum.
going with my friend Charley we are bringing our bikes.
its going to be awsome, no plans no where to stay just pure adventure.

then after 5 or so days there we are coming back.
then i will be homeless for about 3 weeks.
cant afford rent or a deposit for an apt.
oh and before we leave for San fran i have to completely move out of my apt.

being homeless is the new black.

3 of 5 of the art series for new york. I found a printer here in town that can do canvas stretch printing with normal pantones (solid uncoated)!
Ive developed a whole story line to this series but it would take way to long to write it down so you tell me what you think is going on!

This series is a satirical statement on the good and badsides of every issue including Global warming, Rising police state, and Government getting out of controll. It is in a sense the people (blood cubes) vs the state (brainsuckers )

Big news!

I got offered a Whole Show (art)
in New york city
im currently working on the 6-8 piece show
this is so exiting i can hardly belive this is happening!
What got me the show was the piece that posted on here previously
And all i have to do is make 5 more pieces in my new style
I probobly wont be going there untill spring so i have plenty of time to get my pieces together

Whats really awsome about this is everything is being paid for just for me to come out and do it

This work is inspired from the classic story of the frog and the spider (spider uses help of frog to swim to the other side, frog eats him)

its so strange to think that this time next year i will be done with school, considered a learning "professional". Im already starting to think this way. Everything i see i can analyze, di-sect, and redirect, its actually very annoying. I know why certain styles are there why they are used and what people are gravitated toward those certain styles. But we all know about demographics, and target markets ect. Sometimes this makes me feel like a god damn fascist.

Im already starting to get calls from people ive never met wanting me to design logos and t-shirts (screen prints) it feels really good to have people wanting you specifically to create designs that work for them and you.
